Spike Spiegel (Cowboy Bebop)

I am a huge fan of Coboy Bebop, and this image is a lovely tribute to a wonderful anime. Although some may critique it for its lack of a finishing touch, I commend it. To me, it gives the wonderful feel of an old time photo or perhaps an unfinished sketch by a wandering artist who happened to spot Spike in a bar and jotted down his likeness.
I was rawn to this because it had the originality and uniqeness of a hand done piece, rather than something that had been digitally manipulated and enhanced. There is a rawness to the character that really portrays Spike at his best.
The faded transition of the soft pencil strokes blend in beautifully with the signiature that does indeed give it that polished quality that is expected of a piece of this calibur. Instead of making the art appear undone, it instead leaves something up for personal interpretation and thus creates a wonderful, softer image of SPike that will stay with us well after we have clicked, 'favorite.'
